I may have misunderstood your question. I used IE developer toolbar  
and altered the display property, once on the <a> and once on the  
<img>. In each case the crack between the header and the content  
reduced so that it was even with the side borders.

Virtual machines. I'm running macs so at home it's Parallels and at  
work it's VMWare. There are windows solutions like this as well  
(virtual pc is one) but you need to have a box with enough grunt to  
have multiple operating systems running. There are other options like  
'multiple ies' (http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE). I sometimes used  
that when I was on Windows but it's generally accepted that while  
pretty good, it's occasionally not a 100% accurate reflection of what  
users will see. It's a reasonable plan b though and can get you most  
of the way, with final checks being done another way.
