Thanks a lot for the help, I somehow managed it but I'm not very happy with the code.
I never realised that a simple form could cause so many cross browser issues. As a tip on how I fixed it: floated the label and floated the input fields, somehow I managed to make it so it looks fine on ff3.5, ie7, ie8. Thanks for the help anyway guys, Christophers Shmitts answer was a bit of a inspiration.
