Thank you, Kata. My problem apparently was that I was testing in Safari on the Mac. I was using the #closeButton selector and just changing the font size. This did not work as expected and I should have checked it in other browsers before posting. Since it was not working correctly in Safari, I thought that it was my CSS rather than the browser.
