Argue whatever gives you pleasure.

In the meantime, validate the markup.
The CSS is good to go as is.

Do not put the  w3c CSS validation icon or the w3c markup validation 
icon on your site:
both are ugly,
both "set-you-up,"
and both are nothing more than a distraction from the content of your site.
