David: It's taken me a while to write you because I've been digesting and applying all the advice I got about my newbie CSS efforts.
You said: "Be aware that IE7 will not change the size of a background on the body element when a page is zoomed. I suggest you put that "faux column" background on a full-width wrapper element instead." This sailed right over my head. The only zooming I'm familiar with is when I use Ctrl- or Ctrl+ if a site page is too large or small inside my browser window. If the faux column you're talking about is the vertical brown column on the left, you'll be glad to know I killed that. However, I'd still like the educational benefit of know what you meant by putting it in a wrapper element. One more question: In the text of my article, I've used two hyphens to simulate a dash. Can someone point me to a tutorial on how to achieve punctuation like dashes on the Web? http://www.keithpurtell.com/kthings/a_body_vance_divs.htm - Keith Purtell ______________________________________________________________________ css-discuss [cs...@lists.css-discuss.org] http://www.css-discuss.org/mailman/listinfo/css-d List wiki/FAQ -- http://css-discuss.incutio.com/ List policies -- http://css-discuss.org/policies.html Supported by evolt.org -- http://www.evolt.org/help_support_evolt/
