You should not be angry at IE, but at Joomla (if it is Joomla that created
*this* layout) as everything seems to be wrong in that construct. *Plus*, IE
is fed with totally different rules: 
- In IE, #contentLeft has a different left margin (seems to be there to fix
a double margin bug, but that but is not there)
- In IE, the table has a width (500px), but it is width-less in other
browsers (as a side note, the column is 700px so no wonder why it does not
fill the main content area).
- In IE, and IE only, the paragraphs in the table have a 500px width and a
50px margin right (do the maths)
- etc.
