The great majority of web developers don't use XML. Actually, they
despise it. That's why XHTML 1.1 has failed, together with SMIL, SVG
and other SGML-based languages. Everybody loves HTML. So why don't we
turn an XML tabular structure into an HTML table using CSS to present
it?

I'm actually a crusader of XML, so don't worry about what I said
earlier :-)
Now the question: can anyone tell me how did I make the title of the
page appear in browsers without using HTML?
That's an interesting thing that can turn out to be really useful when
you want to combine XML and XHTML.
I'll give you an hint: browsers don't validate an XML document, but
they mainly use namespaces.
HTH :-)
