Blimmy… Buggy Opera. The background /should/ paint all the way down (propagate to the viewport) The cause is a margin-collapse through behaviour – the margin-bottom of [div id="page"] . If I 'kill' that in their Dragonfly inspector, the gap vanishes. Or if I give html / or / body a border-bottom (weirdly, padding-bottom on body doesn't work).
