Okay so - here's the thing; 'letter-spacing' only accepts values in pixel units - which is way too large a unit to modify letter-spacing in any useful manner.
I've read a fair amount of discussions on the topic - and it always ends with floods of so called 'experts' explaining how it's ridiculous to try to or want to adjust the default kerning value of a font - that it just shouldn't be done - that websites won't look the same in all browsers - blah blah blah. What a load of crap. We should be able to adjust the letter-spacing in a smaller unit than pixels. End of discussion. So - a gold star for anyone who can answer: a) Why does 'letter-spacing' only accept pixel values? b) Is there another way to gain the control I'm looking for with fonts? Cheers!
