Well, without knowing more about your project, it is hard to say what the best thing to do is. If your "directory structure" is fixed, i.e., it does not dynamically change based on where the user is, consider using a background image. Or, potentially, you could create the structure as a <ul> and make replace the bullet with a graphic that has vertical lines.
