This page now degrades more or less gracefully as the window width is 
decreased. More or less.

Before the photo at the right can overlap the text in the middle section, as 
the width is decreased, it is dropped down to a lower position.  When that 
happens, it would look much better, were the text and the photo centered 
between the thumbnails at the left and the menu at the far right. I'm afraid 
that I lack the imagination to know how to arrange that. Is there a solution?

As the width is further decreased, there comes a point at which the text is 
also dropped down. Strangely enough, the photo then appears to be centered, 
while the text is not. Is there a solution to that?
