Hmm. That gradient is too subtle for me to see on my laptop, viewed in a
sunny coffee shop. But I suggest you use ColorZilla's gradient
generator[1], rather than a JavaScript solution.
Personally, I use the data-URI svg+xml image from that generator, and
give older IE a plain background. YMMV.
Note that the MS filter requires the container to have "layout" (e.g.
"zoom:1;").
