Also answering others... yes, when I do a file view on the server side, I do see the bin folder where it should be related to the path indicated for the images. I did not name the image files with an underscore at the start, or even with numerical names. That was done by Bridge in creating the gallery. Now am curious about the possible wrinkle of the bin folder, though it would seem puzzling that Adobe would not be aware of such a potential problem on servers and account for it when the software goes to create galleries.
John D, I may well try the Adobe forums. I did a search earlier today and found a thread from 2011 which recounted this same problem. I tried the solution posted there, but that user was doing a flash gallery and I am not, so that may be why the fix didn't work. At this point, I am thinking I'll get better results if I scrap this approach and find another way to build this gallery and embed it. I greatly appreciate everyone's input today!
