Second, I am not allowed access to either the shopping cart¹s stylesheets directly nor to the HTML. So, I am limited in how much control I have here. There is a field in their Cart Customization page that allows me to put CSS that will override their CSS so finding the right place within the stylesheet to place my CSS is not an option.
You may need to find out how that actually works. On the page tested, there are no CSS settings for the visibility property, so any setting for that property should override the default. But maybe their setup someone filters out part of the CSS code that you try to inject. Using some browser’s developer tools, you should be able to look at the CSS code that actually gets sent to browsers.
