The span technique is good and I may have to resort to this in the end,
that or as mentioned, or simply back the image more transparent. This
probably is the last hurdle for the page I have to over come, it would
make things easier if I could control the opacity for multiple
background images, then the rest of the page with regards to CSS is
simple mundane !
