If you're talking about IE6 specifically and you're referring to the grey bits on some of the images, it'll be because IE6 and below doesn't support transparent PNGs. It'll render it with some nasty grey background.
You could redo the images as gifs and set up a seperate IE6 specific stylesheet (Google search IE conditional comments). Or, you can try one of the javascript libraries around that say they make PNGs transparent in IE6.
