I'm having a nighmare with some transparency effects in IE6. I've broken the the problem down to a simple html document with just the following inside the body tag:
<div style="filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(src='file.png',sizingMethod='scale');"></ div> If I drag the file into IE6, it works - I see the image and it's transparent as required. If I try to open the same file via IIS however (i.e. my url starts with http:// instead of C:\), I see nothing. I replicated the problem on my local machine (II7, Vista) and on my dedicated server (II6, Windows 2003). The file is a photoshop file saved in PNG-24 format. I get the same behaviour if I use Fireworks to save in in PNG-8 format with alpha transparency - saving PNG-24 in Fireworks never produces transparency. Does anyone understand this behaviour and know the solution? I'd be most grateful.
