Hey Pei, My honest suggestion here would be to simply create a JIRA issue, and import the module unless you hear any -1s, which constitute a veto, which I don't think you've heard so far, and I don't see happening very much in this community (you all seem to get along fine).
No need to introduce procedure/overhead -- just file the JIRA issue, bring the sources in (especially if you are willing to help maintain them), and then move forward. Good luck!
