the "file maanger" like you said. Try opening a console (command shell) and
typing java -jar <name of file>

As it turns out, it's far far worse than I imagined. At first I reckoned I
was just being a tad bit stupid. In the end I realised I was being a
complete idiot! Somewhere along the line of solving relative path issues I
removed some error checking code that kicked in silently at runtime....
