Hi. Your best bet for a Java Web Development job is focusing on the core Java language, Servlets, JSP and HTML. Later you can expand your knowledge to EJB3/Hibernate, Struts (or equivalent) and JSF once you're comfortable with the basics.
If you're looking to go the desktop route then focus on the core Java language and most especially Swing. I don't see the merit in learning PHP if you're doing Java development though. The most important skill you'll need as a Java developer is the ability to handle Object Oriented concepts.
