I've pulled my hair out with j2me and sound. I wrote an app to record
and playback voice on a cell phone. The main stumbling block was
choosing the write sampling rate and format, which is set as a text
field. There is a query you can run on the phone to discover what it
supports, but the Nokia I was using reported incorrectly, from which
it narrowly missed having its little head beat against the wall. Then
came the storage issues...

I don't remember the details, only the pain; I don't recommend sound
recording on cell phones with java.

Anybody else had similar experiences?

Brian
