I saw that, but since access to the machine denied from other
addresses, I pressumed that there must be some other place where
access is allowed/denied.

That's what I got for being presumptious! :-)
since, the problem has been resolved.  It seems to have been a proxy
server on the network of the client attemting to connect to the admin
console, that may have caused this.  It just started working again
this afternoon.
