I've been getting questions from TexShare members about database usage
statistics. I thought it would be helpful to the TexShare membership to
provide basic information about usage statistics:

1) Database usage statistics for the TexShare databases will be available to
libraries at the institutional level so far as we have an accurate range of
IP numbers for your institution on file.
2) We are working with the database vendors and with our strategic partners
at UT-Austin to establish a web page that will contain instructions on how
to get your statistics from each of the TexShare vendors. This will be
available to you in the next week or so.
3) We are also working with the vendors to streamline the methods you use to
get your statistics and to improve the reporting capabilities for each
vendor system. This will be an ongoing, dynamic process.

On a side note - as an ex-mathematics teacher, I could soap box for hours
about the importance of accurate and relevant usage statistics. We are
committed to providing these measures to your libraries for the databases
funded through the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund and TexShare.
