You may want to reconsider these supports. While they tend to look nice and
neat, they don't necessarily work as intended.

When they built their new main library and got all new shelving, Texas
Woman's University chose to go with the wire book supports that are
suspended from the underside of each shelf. Unfortunately, these supports
did not always slide easily so many library users simply quit trying to move
them over whenever they removed books from the shelves; of course, this
meant books falling over or leaning at odd angles and damaging the spines.
The other problem we encountered there was that since the wire supports are
so narrow and unobtrusive, users often did not notice them when sliding a
book back on the shelf--a lot of books sustained damaged pages when books
were accidently shoved into the supports.

You may have wonderful users who pay attention and use these supports
properly. If so, they may be right for you. But if you have usage by
children, teens or users who don't assist you in taking care of the
materials, then you may want to avoid the wire supports.

Laurie, am I doing this right to send to the list?
We are planning to buy wire book supports and wonder if any other libraries
use them and do they use 9in or 6in, the type we are looking at suspends
from underside of shelf above! Thanks for any input. Judy
