and it may get help from your server.

The attacks launched by the CodeRed virus utilize compromised servers
running Windows NT and Windows 2000 Server. The virus takes advantage of a
flaw in Internet Information Server to turn your server into a zombie. The
hacker that created the virus can then control your server and bend it to
their will.

*Are you running IIS on your server? If you are hosting your own Web page,
you are. Also, IIS is sometimes installed by default when Windows in
installed, so it may be running without you knowing.

*To find out if IIS is running on your server, go to
http://www.digitalisland.net/codered/ and follow the instructions.

*If you are running IIS, there is a patch that will close the security hole.
The instructions for downloading the patch are just below the instructions
for the IIS test. Once the patch is downloaded and installed, you must
reboot. After the reboot, CodeRed cannot run on your system.

You can call me or Bob Gaines if you need help. Please give the
instructions a try first. They are fairly easy to follow.
