Thanks, Sharon Sharon Herfurth CTLS __________________________________________________________________________ Dear EBSCOhost Customers, During this week we will release upgrades to EBSCOadmin and EBSCOhost, making the following features available: NEW BASIC SEARCH SCREEN Modifications to basic search screen include: 4 new search mode radio buttons and replacement of Natural Language search screen with "Match Any Words" mode. Displaying the search modes on the Basic Search Screen will be an EBSCOadmin option, and profiles will be defaulted not to show them. EBSCOhost administrators can show the modes by checking the box "Show search modes on Basic search screen?" under Profiles>Basic in EBSCOadmin. If this option is not checked, profiles will default to the default screen they have set today and the radio buttons will not appear. GUIDED SEARCH "Advanced Search" has been renamed "Guided Search." EBSCOhost BLUE TOOLBAR EBSCOhost's black toolbar will change to royal blue. DATABASE URL PARAMETER Enables linking directly from external web page(s) to the EBSCOhost Search screen with a specific database(s) selected. OPTION TO BYPASS THE CHOOSE DATABASE SCREEN Allows EBSCOhost administrators to choose whether users will bypass the Choose Database Screen and go directly from the Select Service Screen to the EBSCOhost Search Screen if there are multiple databases in a profile. NEW LINKS TO DATABASE-SPECIFIC HELP A hyperlink from the database name on the EBSCOhost search screen and on the Result List initiates a new window with database-specific Help information. COMING SOON Please note that reference tagger, re-designed journal authority files for specific databases and alert capability will be released later this month and we'll notify you with more detail as they become available. The "Coming Soon" page on EBSCOweb Community (http://www.ebscoweb.com/ComingSoon.asp) will be updated throughout the month with release status and information.
