The "Soaring to Excellence" series provides information and training to library support staff nationwide. SUMMARY: The exquisitely dynamic nature of the World Wide Web demands that even the most clever of searchers continuously renew their strategies and refresh their thinking. Knowing how to dig deeply in the right places is not a skill learned easily or maintained without continual effort. What are search engines? How and what do they search? How do we use them effectively and efficiently? What are specialty search engines and how do they work? How do we search the invisible Web? What is the future of searching with search engines? Get ready for a content-packed program, which will explore these and other questions in this ever-changing area. This program will be accompanied by an interactive Web site that will allow students to test themselves and practice newfound skills.
