Please note that the deadline for the LSTA Competitive Grants applications for Fiscal Year 2003 is 5:00 Friday, March 1, 2002. If you would like TSLAC staff to review all or part of your proposal prior to submitting the final application, we must receive a review draft by the end of the day on Friday, February 1. Fax or email may be used for Drafts, but NOT for Final applications. For more information about these grants, please see below: LSTA Grant Deadline Approaches The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. March 1 for the LSTA Competitive Grant programs for projects beginning September 1, 2002. Remember that applications may not be faxed. Grant programs include Special Project, Cooperation, and Establishment Grants. New this year: the Cooperation Grant program now includes any TexShare member library as an eligible lead library in the project. You may download or request applications and guidelines from the TSLAC website at http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/funding/lsta/index.html. Also new this year: The entire application packet is now available in a fillable Word format and may be completed electronically, then printed out for submission. Special Project Grants: Funds projects in the following categories: Services to People with Limited English Proficiency; Services to Older Adults; Community Information and Referral Centers; Literacy Programs; Services for People with Disabilities; Intergenerational Library Programs; Library Programs for Children in Child Care; and Services for the Disadvantaged in Urban and Rural Areas. Cooperation Grants: Supports the establishment of electronic or service linkages between libraries. Supports the establishment of library consortia for the purpose of sharing electronic resources or other services. Establishment Grants: Supports the establishment of public library service in unserved counties and in cities not served by county libraries.
