Julie:

Thomas Register is available free online. The web address is
http://www.thomasregister.com/ You have to register to use the database,
but the user name and password can be saved to then allow automatic access.

Patrons can even register to use TR from their home or office.

The online version of TR contains the same information as the multivolume
print version. The user can search by product or service, company name,
brand name, etc., and even limit by state. Last fall, I did a comparison
between the print and online versions and the same companies and contact
information were found under the categories I compared. The only advantage
to using the print version was that sometimes cross-references were included
for related categories.

Even if you decide to keep the print version, it would be a nice service to
provide the information to use the online version. By the way, when we had
a print version of TR it was rarely used, and when I recommend the online
version the patrons are always very pleased.

Best wishes!
