A dynamic and growing community library with a sparkling new building is
seeking a Technology and Building Systems Librarian.
The Westbank Community Library is located in a fast-growing community in the
hill country of Austin, Texas. The community of composed of well educated
professionals, most of whom initially moved to the area due to the excellent
school system. As the first library district in Texas, the Westbank
Community Library is a recognized leader for its innovative marketing,
customer
service and volunteer programs.
Technology and Building Systems Librarian
Supervise Technology and Building Systems for a dynamic community library.
Evaluate effectiveness of systems and prepare recommendations for future
equipment, material and personnel needs.
Minimum Requirements: MLS or equivalent
Two years administrative experience;
Two years public library experience preferred
Strong automation and PC computer background
Familiar with automated library resources
Salary and Benefits: $36,000
12 days of vacation & 10 days family sick
leave

Includes some evening and weekend hours
Responsibilities:
Technology
� Coordinate hardware maintenance with network administrator.
� Evaluate and coordinate purchase of computer software and hardware.
� Prepare reports for technology related grants (TIF, Erate, etc.).
Reference
� Provide reference desk coverage throughout the week.
Planning
� Collect data to evaluate and to improve performance of building and
technology services.
� Prepare documentation to forecast growth and budget needs for these
areas.
� Ensure that building and technology policies and procedures are
developed and followed.
� Prepare annual evaluations for employees in these areas.
Building Systems
� Coordinate building systems maintenance.
� Prepare proposals for equipment needs.
