This is a message from CTLS-L. Selecting "Reply" will send a message to the entire list. --------------------------------------------------------- Greetings!
In re-vamping my list of “Genealogy Collections in Our Part of Texas,” I thought it would be helpful to ask our member libraries if they consider their genealogy collection significant enough to list in this handout. If your library is on the list, you may get a little more traffic than if you are not listed. J
Please tell me in the next week (by June 5) whether you have a genealogy collection at your library that is worth someone coming from out of town to check. If there is one in your town, but not in the library, I’d like to know that, also. Thanks!
On the list so far:
Texas State Library Houston PL’s Clayton Genealogical Library (a separate branch) Dallas PL Waco-McLennan County Library Fayette Public Library & Archives Burnet County Library System’s Herman Brown Free Library Kingsland Library (Llano County Library System) Llano County Library System Main Library Temple PL Lena Armstrong Library, Belton
Non-library collection: Hamilton
A clue to the significance of your collection: most of these are either in a separate building or in a separate room of their library. It’s more than just a shelf or two. Thanks!
Laurie
