Here's a newsletter for the Bibliostat software you use to submit your
annual report to the Texas State Library & Archives Commission. You might
want to hang on to the information for that golden moment when you plunge
into next year's report. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks

Upcoming/Recent Enhancements

: Under Status and Printing, all views will now be printable. This includes
the ability to print the Edit Check report, Unanswered Questions and Flagged
Questions.
: A new View will be added called View all Required Unanswered Questions.
This will give the user the ability to only see those questions that are
unanswered and required before they can submit their survey.
: Locked fields such as Automatic Calculations will be 'gray' to more
easily distinguish them from fields that require input. (as new survey's are
created - doesn't affect current survey)
: The Library Name will appear on each page of the survey. This will be
helpful at the state level when accessing individual surveys through the
administration login.
: Question numbers that do not have associated help linked to them will no
longer be underlined, thus preventing a link to an empty definition box.
: A new Link will be added to the tool bar called Help. This is
customizable at the state level to include important State contact names,
numbers, websites, etc. Informata Product Support contact information will
also be included.
: The ability to request an Excel spreadsheet directly from the application
without having to contact your support rep. (SDC Level Only)
: New SDC Links on the Status and Printing page that will enable you to
view all libraries that have submitted, or only those libraries that have
not submitted their survey. You will still have the option to view all or
broken down alphabetically.

User Tips

:: Edit Checks
If a question fails an Edit Check (meaning it is out of range, etc.), it
will show up in the Edit Check Report. In order to satisfy an Edit Check for
submission purposes, you must annotate why the Edit Check failed. This
annotation can be a Local, State, or most likely, a Federal Note. The Edit
Check will tell you what note to use. Once you have annotated the Edit
Check using the proper note, and clicked update, the Edit Check will turn
green. This indicates that you have annotated that question successfully.

:: Unanswered Questions
When viewing unanswered questions, keep in mind that these are all questions
within the survey that have not been answered. This does not necessarily
mean that all these questions are required in order to submit your survey.
Collect will not allow you to submit your survey until all required
unanswered questions are answered. In a coming release of Collect, the
ability to view only 'required' unanswered questions will be available.

:: Saving Your Survey
When you go to submit your survey, Collect will prompt you to make sure that
you have printed a copy and saved an electronic copy if necessary. To
accomplish this task, do the following:

: If you are using the WebReport, go to File and choose Save As.
: Choose a directory to save to, give the file a name and click Save.
: If you are using the PDF report, click on the 'floppy disk' icon (top
left of the toolbar). This serves as the Save icon.
: Choose a directory to save to, give the file a name and click Save.
: If you don't see the 'floppy disk' icon, you are using an older version
of Adobe Acrobat, and need to upgrade to the most recent version. See the
Documentation Link in Collect for the link.
: You have now saved an electronic copy of your report, and may access it
at anytime to print another copy.
