You are invited to the 5th Annual TeleCommunity Bandwidth Conference "New Connectivity Choices for Texas Communities" Joe C. Thompson Conference Center, University of Texas - Austin August 19-20, 2002 The TeleCommunity Resource Center and University of Texas Telecommunications Information & Policy Institute invite you to the 5th Annual TeleCommunity Bandwidth Conference: "New Connectivity Choices for Texas Communities" August 19-20, 2002 at the Thompson Conference Center, UT - Austin. [located by the LBJ Library, Dean Keeton (26th) and Red River Streets] Texans increasingly recognize the vital role of telecommunications bandwidth for survival and success in this Information Age. But government and community leaders need accurate, timely information and resources to choose from rapidly changing connectivity options. This unique statewide conference brings together leaders from state and local governments, the telecommunications industry, and local communities to explain and discuss various bandwidth resources and support programs available for Texas communities during the coming year. The focus of this statewide event is to update state and community leaders on constantly changing telecommunication infrastructure choices and resources available from government and industry. Using information excerpted from "The Internet Roadshow," experts will explain, clearly and simply, access methods, capabilities, costs and conditions, with interactive Q&A for your specific questions and concerns. Hosts and sponsors for this free nonprofit educational conference include the TeleCommunity Resource Center, UT Telecommunications & Information Policy Institute, Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board, Office of Rural and Community Affairs and SW Bell Telephone. Though the conference is free, space is limited and available on first registration basis. We look forward to seeing you at the conference.
