Thirteen/WNET-TV New York and the ALA Public Programs Office announce a new partnership project to support a total of 15 libraries participating as outreach sites for Cyberchase, a popular daily children's PBS animated math adventure TV/Web series set in cyberspace, where a young team of heroes thwart villains using their brainpower.

Libraries wishing to become Cyberchase outreach sites can download an application and guidelines at www.ala.org/publicprograms/cyberchase.  Selected libraries will receive a $2,000 grant and support materials to host a minimum of four Cyberchase workshops with after-school groups for children and parents.  Workshops use Cyberchase episodes and hands-on activities to teach children (ages 8-11) math skills.

Cyberchase grant applications must be received by Friday, February 28.  Questions?  Please contact Laura Hayes at [EMAIL PROTECTED].
