FYI,

Amanda at CTLS

NOVA is offering public libraries the second installment in its
continuing series of profiles of landmark scientists. The next program,
which will air September 30, profiles the famous mathematician and
inventor, Archimedes. "Infinite Secrets" chronicles the discovery of
some of Archimedes' original work and describes the life of the man who
is said to have cried "Eureka" when he discovered the principle of
buoyancy and who set the stage for modern calculus.

Each program is accompanied by a library resource kit that has been
reviewed by a national board of public librarians. The kits include
programming ideas, a bibliography, activity sheet handouts, a poster,
bookmarks, and more. Kits include ideas for children, young adult, and
adult audiences and display sheets for library exhibits. Kits are
scheduled to be sent out about 8 weeks before the program airs.

Kits are either available as single copies or in bulk orders of more
than 25. Please signify whether you would like a single copy of the kit
or specify an amount over 25 for system-wide distribution.

If you would like to get the next three free kits in the series,
beginning with Archimedes this fall and followed by Isaac Newton and
Percy Julian, please send the following information by June 30 to the
following e-mail address. Supplies are limited.
