The College of DuPage has released information regarding its upcoming teleconference season. As in the past, the Texas State Library hopes to provide satellite downlink sites in Texas with the opportunity to host these important continuing education events for Texas library staff. ***The purchasing procedure for downlink licenses for these events has been initiated but is not yet complete.*** At this time we encourage library staff to look at the upcoming teleconference schedule (below) and mark their calendars for the teleconferences which interest them. As we have in the past, we hope to make these teleconferences available statewide. The locations of participating teleconference host sites will be released at a later date. -- November 14, 2003 -- Soaring to Excellence, Part I: "A Basic Toolkit: Good Manager and Good Employee Skills" -- January 23, 2004 -- Soaring to Excellence, Part II: "A Technology Toolkit: Survival Skills for Everyone" -- February 6, 2004 -- Advanced Reference Topics (subtitle to follow shortly) -- March 12, 2004 -- "Web Filtering: Policy, Software, Staff Training and CIPA" -- March 26, 2004 -- Soaring to Excellence, Part III: "Professional Toolkit: Skills for Advancement" More information on some of these teleconferences can be found on DuPage's website: http://www.cod.edu/teleconf/ **Please note that the Texas State Library does NOT have plans to purchase licenses for the first teleconference on October 10th.** Please contact me with questions or concerns.
