Texas Guaranteed (TG) invites libraries and educational institutions to
serve as a host site for the 9th Annual FAFSA Teleconference, which will be
broadcast Thursday, February 5, 2004, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Applying for
Financial Aid: The FAFSA Process is a special free satellite broadcast that
provides students and parents with instructions for completing the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form must be completed
before a student can receive any federal or state (Texas) financial aid for
school.

During the broadcast, TG representatives will guide viewers through the
FAFSA step-by-step. TG also produces the show in Spanish, Como Solicitar
Ayuda Economica: Tramite de la FAFSA, which will be distributed to coincide
with the broadcast of the English program.
Participation is easy and FREE. To broadcast the program, it would be
helpful if you have a room with a monitor or television with satellite
downlink capability. ***If satellite downlink technology is not currently
available, videotapes of the program can be provided upon request and should
be shown during the regularly scheduled broadcast time of 7:00 p.m. on
February 5, 2004.*** (Public and school libraries participating in TG's
library outreach program, Know Before You Go, will automatically receive
videotapes following the broadcast to add to their collections.) TG will
provide all promotional materials to assist in advertising the event.

To register as a host site, please complete the online registration form
available at
http://www.adventuresineducation.org/Events/Teleconference2004/. If you do
not have satellite downlink equipment but would like to host the program by
showing a videotape during the live program time, please check the box on
the registration form which reads "Host a site - no satellite reception
(contact me about options)." If you are interested in the Spanish version of
the program, be sure to indicate this option on the registration form.

Upon receipt and processing of your registration, you will be forwarded a
packet that includes satellite coordinates (if needed), poster and flyers,
fact sheet, evaluations, and other related materials.
