Rock Springs Community Center, on Saturday, February 7, 2004, from 3:00 to 5: p.m. The “Old Church” is located on FM 218 just west of the crossroads of FM 218 and FM 573, 8 miles east of Zephyr and 10 miles west of Priddy. Laura is the author of four books, all presenting her great photography. Her latest book, Grit and Glory is of particular interest to many people in the surrounding area. It is a tribute to Six-Man Football and features many students and fans from area six-man schools. Laura became interested in six-man football in the early 90’s and began photographing teams throughout Texas. The names of the towns and the high scoring games intrigued Laura. She loved the fact that she could get so close to the players and the crowds and feel the emotion and excitement as it was played out. The photographs in this book are Laura’s selection from the thousands she has made over the past decade. We hope you will come meet the author and reminisce with many of those featured in Grit and Glory. Books will be available for purchase.
This was forwarded to me from a dear friend, Margaret Waring, director of the Comanche Public Library. If “Friday Night Lights” was popular in your community, you may be interested in this book. The location is in Mills County, which is within our CTLS boundaries.
