County Heritage Week will be held March 22nd through 27th,
2004. Burleson County is
celebrating its’ 158th birthday with tours of the museums and
exhibits at local businesses. The Burleson
County Historical Commission, Burleson County Historical Society, and the
Burleson County Chamber of Commerce sponsor the weeklong event. Tours
of the Somerville Area Museum, Czech Heritage Museum, Kraitchar House Museum,
Caldwell Historical Museum, Burleson County Historical Museum and Bible
Adventure Park will be conducted throughout the week to highlight old photos
and vintage clothing. Other photo
and clothing exhibits can be seen at area businesses such as Central Bank, Madhatter’s
Tea Room, Manuel’s, First Baptist School Junior High Group, Imagemaker, Groce
Cosy Barber Shop, Jewelry Corner, Burleson County Tribune, Shear Country and
Citizen’s State Bank in Somerville.
A grand birthday party with cake and refreshments will be held at the
Burleson County Courthouse on Friday, March 26th at 2pm. On
Saturday, March 27th at 9:30am and 10:30am, there will be the
Heritage Fashion Show at the Kraitchar House in Caldwell. The event concludes the week of
activities with vintage clothing modeled by local individuals. Tickets are $10, which includes a tea
plate. Seating is limited and
reservations must be made. For
