Deadline Nears for National Leadership Grants
for Museum-Library Collaborations (April 1)
National Leadership
Grants for Library-Museum Collaborations support innovative projects that model
how museums and libraries can work together to expand their service to the
public-with emphasis on serving the community, using technology, or enhancing
education. Last year, IMLS awarded over $6.7 million for library-museum
collaborations. Projects as varied as extending the benefits of a library card
to include discounted admission to special programs at its partner museum, to
creating K-12 educational programming at libraries and museums based on the
recently excavated dinosaur, Jane, to creating statewide digital libraries,
were funded last year.

To ensure National Leadership Grants for Library-Museum Collaborations result
in significant benefits to the public, IMLS establishes a set of priorities for
each fiscal year. For application, samples of successful grant proposals, and
grant priorities for 2004, please see: http://www.imls.gov/grants/l-m/l-m_lead.asp
The postmark deadline is April 1.
