I'm writing to tell you about The September Project and to ask you to use TSLAC communication resources to make Texas libraries aware of it. It is a project to urge libraries to develop democracy programs for Sept.11. I'm a member of their national board. Please read my attached message (which recently went out on PUBLIB) describing the project and providing the web address so you can check it out. Stimulating public interest in democracy and public issues is one of the primary duties of public libraries and is our best hope for greater public support of libraries. The September Project is a good first step toward that future. Thanks for your help. Mike
