As someone who is, I wanted to share some interesting information with you. Offering email registration may increase your participation rate. Just this year I experimented by offering to register children (through their parents) & teens via email for our reading programs. The response was larger than I thought. I believe due to the convenience factor there was a huge response to just a casual offer. To each who supplied the basic information needed to register, I sent a PDF version of their reading log via email. Here are our final registration totals (we ended our registration this past Sunday) along with the response level we received via email...
2972 Children (baby - elementary ages)
437 Teens Registered (middle & high school students)
I'm curious to know if any of you have used email in this way. We also have offered to take registration by fax, though this has not received the same level of response. However, in the past we have offered to receive finalized logs via fax and the response has been far greater for that. Hope everyone is having a successful summer!
