TO ILL STAFF ON CTLS LIST: Thanks to those libraries who participated in the last test on Friday November 19. I learned a lot more in respect to how everyone is navigating through the entire process from signing on to FirstSearch and ending with clicking on the new ILL button which takes you to the ILLiad sign on and submit form. - Keep in mind the following points: - Nothing changes in respect to how you sign on and request your titles in WorldCat. - Setting up an account in FirstSearch for tracking your ILL requests is new (My Account) but is not a necessary step for requesting ILL items in WorldCat or for sending your requests through the new ILLiad gateway. You may ignore setting up an account at this time, although at some point in the future, you may want to track your ILL requests. - ILLiad is primarily for automated statistical tracking. Therefore, when we are live with the ILLiad program, if you use WorldCat you will automatically flow into ILLiad. - Texas Group Libraries do not use this system for requesting ILL material. They have full access to the ILL module on OCLC. - If you phone in or fax your requests you may continue to use this method for sending your requests. -If you email in your requests you may continue to use this method for sending your requests. I am available to help any one get through the switch. Give me a call or email and I will be happy to walk you through the steps. We will have another test Tuesday November 23 from 2 PM to 4 PM for those who want to practice. You may send real requests using the old system until 2 PM and after 4 PM. After the Thanksgiving holidays I hope we will be ready to go live and can turn it on permanently.
