Amount: $1,000; may be considered for renewal one time (must reapply each year) Awarded once each year; award determination to be made in January of each year for the following fall semester. Awardee must: 1. Be bilingual (Spanish-English). 2. Must reside in Texas. 3. Must be enrolled in an ALA-accredited MLS program and be taking at least 2 courses in a semester. 4. Must plan to or already be working in a public or school library that serves Latino patrons. 5. Must have a degree plan that demonstrates a commitment to public or school libraries. 6. Must be a TLA member.
