HI, Jeanette Larson from Austin Public Library sent this message. I have
been in communication with Ann Church and she is sending some information
for me to pass out at the upcoming summer reading workshops.

At some of the summer reading club workshops, I
mentioned Kids First!, a non-profit film organization
that is working to provide quality film programming
for children. They are expanding their programs to
public libraries in Texas this summer. Here is the
basic information. Full details will be on their
website by March 1. Note that you get the dvd or video
to show AND the public performance rights for the
summer. At the end of the summer, some suppliers will
allow you to keep the dvd or video while others will
be returned to Kids First. Also, unlike the other
licensing agreement for public performance (discussed
in the TRC Manual), you may advertise the titles of
these films. Many are produced by small independent
producers who want their film to be seen. Others are

a pilot program, participation is limited to 100

 Go Wild . . . Read film supplement is offered by the
Coalition for Quality Children's Media to Texas public libraries from May -
August 2005. The program is offered as a package of 10 titles. The programs
will be shipped approximately May 14, 2005 and must be returned by the
libraries by August 31, 2005. All programs are provided on DVD unless noted.
Limited quantities of each title are available. 
Public performance rights are included and covered
under the event agreement. Advertise these films! No advertising
restrictions. Libraries may select from the list of titles, subject to
availability. Up to 10 titles may be selected for the $100 total fee for the
duration of the Go Wild . . . Read program. Titles will be shipped by May
14, 2005 and must be returned by August 31, 2005. Titles not returned will
be billed at retail replacement cost. Additional titles are available in 5
titles increments (11-15 titles $150 total fee, 16-20 titles $200 total fee)
based on availability. Final titles and order forms will be available
on-line at www.kidsfirst.org by March 1, 2005. Purchase orders will be
accepted. To reserve titles, you may place your order and orders will be
held for 14 days pending receipt of the purchase order number. Bills will be
mailed upon shipment of titles, terms, Net 30.

Go Wild Read Film Supplement programming:
.       Programming fee of $100 for the duration of the Go
Wild Read program for up to 10 titles. 
.       Libraries may select the titles, however limited
quantities of each title are available on a first
come, first served basis. 
.       Includes public performance rights and titles may be
advertised. Artwork may be downloaded at www.kidsfirst.org/media. 
.       Programs may be shown multiple times.
.       Orders will be accepted beginning March 1, 2005.
Purchase orders will be accepted..
.       Programs must be shipped back to KIDS FIRST! by
August 31, 2005 via 3 day carrier, such as UPS or
FedEx.
