Director and Librarian

Dear Ms. Rudd:

Women Writing the West, a national writers' organization that focuses on

'women's stories/voices in/of the West', annually sponsors the WILLA Awards

in each of seven categories. We are looking for TX judges (librarians) for

the final round of competition.

Our annual WWW conference will be held this year in Ft. Worth in October

2005. At the conference, which also features workshops, panels, and

agents/editors, we have our Awards program for Willa finalists and winners.

For more on the award, the organization, and/or the conference, please

visit: womenwritingthewest.org.

Are there any librarians in your system who would be interested/willing to

participate as judges? There would be 5 books to read/judge in each of the 7

categories; judges would be assigned to one category only (not all 7). We do

have librarian judges from other states, but would like to feature TX

librarians, if possible. We would also like to have those local librarians,

in fact, attend as our guests to the awards ceremony on Saturday evening,

Oct. 22. We will have a banquet dinner and a keynote speaker.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

Gail
