A note in the Austin American-Statesman's Business section of Thursday, June 2 announces his appointment. Gene heads the Metropolitan Austin Interactive Network (Main.org), providing free web page hosting and classes to Austin non-profit organizations. He has also organized community networking conferences in Austin.
Some of you may remember Gene from his assistance to the CTLS staff in training member library staffs in 1996, when we received grant money to provide internet services to almost 30 member libraries. Gene's wife Lisa has served on the CTLS Advisory Council.
