Subject: [syscon-tx] Workshop Survey

Did you attend the Texas State Library's ¡Sí Se Puede! Selecting Spanish Books for Adults workshop back in May or October 2004? These workshops were presented in Carrollton, Cleveland, Austin, San Angelo, El Paso, Amarillo, Lubbock, Grapevine, San Antonio, and Pharr, Texas.

If you attended one of these workshops, we would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Please take a few minutes to complete a brief online survey concerning how the ¡Sí Se Puede! workshop with Yolanda Cuesta that you attended in May or October 2004 impacted your library collection and programs? The survey is available at http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/cgi-bin/ld/genForms/sisurvey/sisurveyForm.php.

Many workshops presented by the Texas State Library and the ten Texas Library Systems, including this Spanish collection development series, are funded through grants from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.  The Institute of Museum and Library Services is required to report to Congress on federally funded programs - utilizing Outcome-Based evaluation.

You may recall that the evaluation form you completed at the end of the ¡Sí Se Puede! workshop utilized principles of Outcome-Based Evaluation to measure the level of increase in your knowledge and confidence in selecting Spanish-language materials. This survey uses Outcome-Based Evaluation principles to gather additional information about the impact the workshop had on your library collection, and your outreach to the Latino community.

Thank you so much for your cooperation and support.

Sincerely,

Myra Arredondo
