For the Gates grant, the only required inventory is of the original Gates
computers.
For example, if a library originally received 5 computers from the Gates
Foundation, then we will expect to see at least 5 computers on their
inventory. We will have no way of knowing whether they have more computers
or not.
So, if their inventory shows 5 or more computers, we will assume a complete
inventory. If the inventory reflects 4 or fewer computers, we will be
contacting the library to discover where the other computers are now.

Would a full inventory be useful to the library -- probably. Is it
required? No ...

Our response to library directors that contact us is that the choice is
theirs. We share the same information as above.

Marilyn,

Hello! A library director at one of the regional meetings said she was told
to run TechAtlas on her original Gates PACs only. It's my understanding
that a TechAtlas inventory should be done on all PACs at an eligible
library, not just on the original Gates PACs. Is that correct?

Thanks,
