APL has added almost 20,000 netLibrary marc records to our catalog (TexShare has 27,000 netLibrary titles and several years ago APL bought about 300 titles). In the fiscal year 2005 there were 24,568 accesses of 7,312 eBooks titles. In fiscal year 2004 there were 21,523 accesses to 7,164 eBooks. There are 3,227 registered APL netLibrary user accounts. The five most popular (accessed) eBooks in 2005 were: 1. Wiley CPA Examination Review. Volume 2, Problems and Solutions (Business) 2. "The Changing Same" : Black Women's Literature, Criticism, and Theory Literature (Literature) 3. A Double-edged Blade (a romance novel) 4. Test Theory : A Unified Treatment (Psychology) 5. $30 Music School (Arts) To view the netLibrary catalog entries in APL's catalog go to https://library.ci.austin.tx.us/ Type netLibrary in the search box and search by author. Click on the "19780 titles" link to see the list of cataloged eBooks. To view an individual record click on "view full records and holdings" under the title. If you have an APL Library card you can access the book remotely by clicking on "bibliographic record display" link. Anyone can access the books at any APL location. Since you must have an APL netLibrary account to access the book remotely, we have added the following line to the catalog script: "An electronic book accessible through the World Wide Web; click for information. To access this eBooks you must have an Austin Public Library netLibrary account: link to the create an account page. " NetLibrary accounts can be created remotely with an APL card.
